Help me decide please.

I've narrowed down my selection for a new OD pedal. I currently use digitech hot rod distortion.

I needed a pedal to push my 18watt tmb at lower volumes. The choices are so far, Xotic BB preamp, Foxrox Zim (CS and TAR) cards and Fulltone OCD. I'll be using mostly bucker guitars but it has to work with single coils as well.

What would you recommend I should buy to use with a 18watt. I need a good clean boost and I need good dose OD that is not too compressed or colored. Lastly no huge mid hump. My chain is Guitar, RMC3, and Amp. Sometimes, I throw in a little modulation or delay.

I like the BJF red rooster booster and the ProAnalog Boost Royale. But, there are so many great OD's you should just play as many as you can.

I'd go with the OCD, but I think the fulldrive 2 may suit your needs better

I'll look into those as well. I did have a FD2 I founded not to have enough gain at times. Also, I felt it was to compressed for me. I'm looking for a more open, sizzling type of OD.

Any one tried the Gristle King?

Try the fd2 at 18 volts and use it in compcut mode. All fulltone OD pedals work better with 18 volts, it makes them more open and less compressed. I would keep the clean boost and OD to separate pedals going with the OCD for the gain you want and a Zvex SHO or a Fatboost for the clean boost.
